Fire Awareness Training

Under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 responsibility is placed on the employer and employee to understand the importance of good fire safety principals in the workplace.

We are proud to offer two RQF Regulated courses which would either suit all employees or nominated employees who would take more of an active role as a Fire Marshal.

Level 1 (RQF) Award in Fire Safety Awareness

This course is designed for any staff member who need to be aware of how to act during a fire.

Duration

4 Hours

Learning Outcomes

> Overview of the Fire Triangle.

> Outline of how smoke and fire spreads.

> Fire Control methods in the workplace.

> The importance of good housekeeping.

> Describe a range of portable fire extinguishers.

> Outline Action when hearing an alarm.

> Outline principals of a good evacuation.

> Outline principals of how customers and contractors are managed.

 

Level 2 (RQF) Award in Fire Safety for Fire Marshals

This course is designed for designated staff who are willing to act as a Fire Marshal during evacuation training and live evacuations.

6 Hours

> Overview of the Fire Triangle.

> Outline of how smoke and fire spreads.

> Fire Control methods in the workplace.

> The importance of good housekeeping.

> Describe a range of portable fire extinguishers.

> Outline Action when hearing an alarm.

> Outline principals of a good evacuation.

> Outline principals of how customers and contractors are managed.

> Explain the principals of a Personal Evacuation Plan (PEEP).

> List ways of supporting an individual during an evacuation.

> Explain the actions of a Fire Marshal during an evacuation.

> Outline how to conduct a search of premises during an evacuation.

> Outline the information that should be provided to emergency services.

> Outline the day to day duties of Fire Marshal.
